Peer Navigation Services

In partnership with the Philadelphia Department of Public Health (PDPH), CAMP and NAACHO, our team of Certified Recovery Specialists (CRSs) provide support to patients seeking care at the HUP Cedar Emergency Department!

HUP Cedar is situated within a geographic area with fewer resources for treatment and harm reduction services. Our team can support patients while in the ED, throughout admission for inpatient care or detox, assist with warm hand-offs to community providers and assist the care team with discharge planning. Other services include:

o Peer-Peer counseling to discuss recovery pathways, including Medication for Opioid Use Disorder (MOUD)

o Social service referrals

o Linkage with recovery housing and other resources to address housing insecurity

o Support with transportation

o MOUD copay assistance

o Referral to mutual aid groups and other recovery related support resources

o Same or next day linkage to care for patients seeking methadone through Penn-OTP partnership!
