According to Project HOME, approximately 8,246 people accessed emergency shelter in Philadelphia in FY22. Intake services affiliated with the Office of Homelessness Services served 30 percent more participants compared to the prior year. The City of Philadelphia offers centralized intake centers that can provide a shelter/diversion assessment in various locations throughout the city. The intake centers include an assessment of eligibility and service needs, which will help place an individual experiencing homelessness into an emergency housing.
